Also known widely as the Fire Bird, the phoenix is a profound symbol of life and rebirth. It has a life cycle of 500 to 600 years and after that amount of time, it sets itself on fire and dies in the flames. Then, after three days, it rises again from the ashes. It is a completely benign creature who lives in dew. It is said that the phoenix has a beautiful melodious song which grows ever more mournful as its life comes to an end. It is also a symbol of the sun and immortality.

Forgot to write a post for Graduation Day.... :P

Anyway, this Thursday was the last day that I was officially part of a class and all that... Sigh.

Edison came in late, and when he did show up, the class sorta chided him for being late.... A lot of the girls had been afraid that he wouldn't make it for the ceremony. :P

Then he said that he got all of us roses, and when he brought them out, man, you could just see all the girls melting. :P

It must be such a burden to be the only guy in class. :P

No more school...... and I miss it already. Sigh.

You Are Beauty
You are Beauty.
You are beautiful, whether it be on the inside, the outside, or both. People are drawn to you as strongly as you are drawn to the beauty in the world around you.

What Emotion Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

vamp
You are Form 9, Vampire: The Undying.

"And The Vampire was all that remained on the blood drowned creation. She attempted to regrow life from the dead. But as she was about to give the breath of life, she was consumed in the flame of The Phoenix and the cycle began again."

Some examples of the Vampire Form are Hades (Greek) and Isis (Egyptian).
The Vampire is associated with the concept of death, the number 9, and the element of fire.

Her sign is the eclipsed moon.

As a member of Form 9, you are a very realistic individual. You may be a little idealistic, but you are very grounded and down to earth. You realize that not everything lasts, but you savor every minute of the good times. While you may sometimes find yourself lonely, you have strong ties with people that will never be broken. Vampires are the best friends to have because they are sensible.

Which Mythological Form Are You?

Woohoo.... got in about 2 hours 15 mins of study in the library yesterday.

My sister has decided to buy Clay Aiken's new CD. Some of the songs are pretty nice, if I do say so myself.

And by the way, has anyone seen Ruben Studdard anywhere? Nope. Haha. :P

Face it, the bloody votes were rigged, Clay should've won, doesn't this prove it??

Lol... all right, think I'll stop there at my insult parade; I risk incurring the wrath of any random rabid Ruben fangirl who may happen to stumble upon this humble little blog.

(3 Rs in a row. Alliteration. I did it again. :D)

X-Men: Evolution later at 11.00 and Mutant X at 5.00.

Everwood tomorrow, lalala.....

I'm bored.

Must get some work done in the afternoon after cartoons. :P

I am cold.

It rains for half the day, and you still turn the air-con on full blast in the bloody LT??

And we're talking about LT 4 here, one of the renovated LTs, so obviously the air-con's all the more bloody powerful.

Geez, doesn't anyone have brains???

I mean, okay, we can bring jackets and everything, but to save everyone the trouble and to save their own energy bill, why don't they just the air-conditioning down a notch??

All right, enough ranting for now....

Today's been a pretty good day, anyway. Apart from it being pretty cold, that is.

Lalala....gonna get my butt into the library (and freeze again. Damn.) and start studying now.

23 days to A levels.

7 days till the last day of school. Till graduation day. Till my last day of formal schooling. Till the last day that I'm formally part of a class.

Geez, the thought's kinda freaky.

And sad at the same time.

GP essay for the mock was quite good.... turns out that they gave us the HCJC Prelim essay paper.

It was so much better than our paper; I mean, broader range of topics and everything.

So, all this results in the fact that today, I wrote the best GP essay that I've written in ages. The last three that I wrote for Mock 1, Mock 2 and Prelims sucked. The last good GP essay that I wrote was in CT2, and seriously, I was surprised at what I wrote. Lol.

I'm hungry.... wondering if I should go for Lit extra class later.

Showed Pam my new phone in Geog lect this morning; she and Ivy both thought it was really nice. :D And according to Daphne, apparently, 2100 is the only model that has a flashing rythmic backlight. I didn't know that. And I'm not very sure that it's true. :P

But, anyway, I still like my phone. :D

GP mock on Friday was pretty good!

I thought it was really easy, and they should've set that paper for the Prelims rather than that lousy Prelim paper that they gave... The Prelim paper sucked. Even Ms Fernandez agreed that it was very clumsily set.

Seven of us went out for lunch after the paper; pizza was nice. :D After that, window shopping for a while..... although I still insist that window shopping has to be the most enjoyable form of torture ever invented by man.

I mean, going around staring longingly at things that you can't buy?? Close enough to torture for me......

But I did see nice Quiksilver pencilcases though... and they're almost as nice as the 37 Degrees ones that I saw. And slightly cheaper too.

And I got a new phone yesterday!!!

It's not a great colour phone or anything; it's just a humble little 2100. But it has all the basic functions (and a little more than what my old phone had) and it's smaller, lighter and nicer than my old one!

Then again, as Pam pointed out, anything would be smaller than that ancient phone of mine. Haha.

And yeah, me being the lame person that I am, I had to message Pam and John and tell them that I had a new phone.... haha.

Oh well. So far, it's been a good weekend. :D

Everwood later at 6 pm today. :D

GP mock after school.

After that, about half my class wants to go out for pasta.

I said I was broke, and so did a lot of other people, but apparently, the un-broke population of the class are very enthusiastic to lend the broke population money just so that we can all go out and stuff our faces after the GP paper.

Forgive me if I sound sarcastic, but really, I just meant it in good humour. I just can't be bothered to add a smiley to the end of that.

Plus, my class seems to be obsessed with the fact that it's 30% off....

A Hawaiian pizza will cost a little under $5 after the discount thing.

Maybe I will go after all. :D

Got all my results back. Passed everything (except Maths, which is something that I expected), though not nearly as well as I'd like to have done.

Watched the Romeo and Juliet tape yesterday. Still think it's a damn waste that I've never done R&J in my life. It seems a lot simpler than any other Shakespeare text I can think of. Then again, Julius Caesar was pretty simple already, once I got the hang of it, that is.

I now think that Shakespeare may be vitamin-enriched chicken soup for the literary soul. Coz after watching that yesterday, I suddenly had all these poetic lines popping into my head; was in a very good "writing mood", but had to resist coz I have to study.... DAMN!!

Have extra GP class today after school, till three again. Gonna stay abck and study for a while. Still considering when I wanna start staying back for night study, though.

32 days to A levels.

Let's end on that depressing note, shall we?

Monday, October 06, 2003

Night study's starting again today.... I'll be going home straight after that extra Lit lecture, coz I'm kinda sick of school today, and anyway, I have to transcribe yesterday's Everwood ep by today so that my sis can use that tape for tomorrow night's airing of "Romeo and Juliet".

If I watch it tomorrow night, that'll be the seventh time in my life that I've watched it. And it's a damn waste that I've NEVER done "Romeo and Juliet" for Lit in my whole life!!

Anyway, it was a little freaky when I saw the advertisement on TV last Friday when I got back from school; I was studying my Lit in the library and out of the blue, I just thought of "Romeo and Juliet". Y'know, the "modern" version. Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.

And when I got home, the ad was there on the TV. I swear my eyeballs popped a little. :P

Life sucks right now.... I don't feel like doing ANYTHING, not even studying, and I SHOULD be studying!!

Crap.

Well, while I'm at it, just a few shout-outs to my few favourite people in the world.....

Pam: Hello!!! I know I just saw you about 20 minutes ago in Econs lect, but hi anyway. Haha. Feels nice to say hi and everything, so, yeah! :P

Sylvia: HI!!!! We haven't met in erm... eons, and I miss ya!! Pam, you and me need to get together and go out after our As... will you be having exams then??

John: Haven't seen you around for days, and it feels like AGES! Lol. Is it normal for someone to miss her friends this much?? :P Anyway, that's what SMS is for; I got your message the other night, btw; I didn't reply coz I was asleep! Sorry! :P

Aleksei and Dmitri: Hey, how are you guys? Dmitri told me that I don't have to type Russian, so I won't.... haha. I don't know Russian, anyway!! :P I might want to learn someday, though. Hope it's all going well where you are!

Luis and Eva: Just a quick one; good luck to Luis, and Eva, it's great that you're learning fast.... I won't have to type Spanish here! And that might be a good or bad thing, since my Spanish is already getting worse and worse with disuse..... :P Gracias, btw, for Saturday, and keep an eye on your brother, haha. That photo that you sent me, she looks a bit possessive.... she might kidnap him while you ain't looking. Just kidding. :P

All right, that's it then. Ta. :D

Last night's first ep of Dark Angel was great!!!

Ha....mainly due to the presence of Jensen Ackles, I think. :P

Lalala....have to stay back in school for an extra GP lesson till 3!!! Crap. If there wasn't the stupid GP lesson, school would've ended at 12.30!

Damn.

Apparently, John has an extra GP lesson too, so I'll see if he feels like staying back to study after it...

Think I might be staying till about 4 anyway.

Sigh....lalala....think I shall go home today and transcribe Everwood for an hour to destress. :P

Or I could watch Dark Angel again. :P Got it on tape. :D

Wednesday, October 01, 2003

Well, aside from the A's being 41 days away and everything, school now is fantastic. :P

I mean, come on, I end at either 12.30 or 1.10 nowadays, as compared to my previous timetable when my earliest day was 3.50 and my latest was 5.50!!

It feels great!! I mean, I have about 4 or 5 lessons a day, and the day just ends SO early!!

But I'm staying back in school till about 5 everyday, anyway, to study. I've decided that I definitely cannot study at home, so staying in school till 5 is a good way to get in at least four or five hours of study a day. :)

Wednesday shall be by weekday TV day; Saturday can be my weekend one.

Coz as of this Wednesday, today, there'll be Charmed at 10 pm and Dark Angel at midnight. :D

Granted that most of the time I'll probably have to tape Dark Angel and watch it another day, seeing's as it's on so late, but that doesn't matter! :D
